Best Practices in Curriculum Enhancement Toward Institutionalizing Events Management Across Disciplines
Abstract
In its commitment to be an institution of hope and a premier local college in the country, City College of Angeles strengthens its natural capability through continuous benchmarking and program evaluation. This study delves into the curriculum enhancement of the Bachelor of Physical Education (BPEd), Bachelor of Technical Vocational Teacher Education (BTVTEd) and Bachelor of Library and Information Science (BLIS) programs. This study employed descriptive and qualitative research designs, more specifically documentary analysis. In the process, BPEd, BTVTEd, and BLIS curricula were enhanced using the Six-Step Approach in reviewing and revising a curriculum program: 1) Problem Assessment and General Needs Assessment; 2) Needs Assessment of Targeted Learners; 3) Goals and Objectives; 4) Educational Strategies; 5) Implementation; and 6) Evaluation and Feedback. Furthermore, it also narrates the attainment of the Center of Excellence accreditation from the Asia Pacific Institute for Events Management (APIEM) of these programs. Implications for having garnered such distinction reveal several advantages for the students and the school.References
